Scary

Today, my boss was telling everyone that he knew a guy who went to a college at which multiple people were shot and killed recently. Being extremely socially awkward and uncomfortable, I blurted, "That's awesome." Now everyone in the office is terrified of me. FML

Socially awkward and people are scared of you; I think that's quite the accomplishment.

Of all the things to say...that's what you chose to say?

Aren't socially awkward people generally inclined to keeping quiet when they don't need to speak up? Also: Since when did something being hard equal something being impossible?

I feel like OP should have gotten less YDI's than they got. Sure, it was a dumb thing to say, but is everyone implying they've never said a dumb thing, or accidentally said something without thinking about it? Plus, social anxiety and shyness and such can make it harder to say the right thing.

Maybe OP was trying to become less socially awkward by forcing himself(I'm assuming) to join conversations more often? Some socially awkward people actually want to be social, and just can't.

*social awkwardness Not social anxiety, got mixed up.

That's not that bad. I was visiting my sister at college, and some shootings happened while I was there. People at my school are convinced I did it,because of my reputation.

What the ****, man. If you're socially stupid don't talk.
