Today, my girlfriend and her mother bought a hanger for my $2000 guitar as a birthday present. They wanted to surprise me by hanging it on the wall. They screwed it upside down, so before I came home it fell off and my guitar broke. FML

People really shouldn't touch other people's instruments, especially one that costs so much. It was a nice thought but a $2000 guitar will be tough to replace, especially since instruments are like children to musicians :( FYL

Look on the bright side, now you can get another guitar, like you need a reason. But it does really suck that this happened to you OP. I know that if this happened to me, I would have gone off on them about breaking my guitar. I don't even let people touch my guitar without me around, much less to hang it up on the wall. I hope you can get another guitar that you like even more than this one, or that you can get it fixed.
