Fake it til you make it

Today, bouncing at a local bar. I I.D.'d a girl with a group of people. I told her that next time she used a fake I.D., she at least should get one with a picture that looked like her. She started crying and ran off. A guy told me that she had been in a car wreck, and had been badly disfigured. FML

not your fault, and even if some people think "oh well you didn't have to be so mean about it!" it is his JOB, don't you think that he gets sick and tired of IDing people who are obviously holding fake ID's..after a while it must get irritating for him.

That is deffs NOT your fault. You were just doing your job. How were you supposed to know?

Not your fault, theres no way you could've known, should've just apologized to the guy and been done with it.

Even though that's messed up, she should have either told you or gotten a new ID...

That must have been a good plastic surgeon then, if he could undisfigure her well enough that she looked totally different, but no evidence of disfigurement. /That or the "disfigured" story was really just their plan for if she got called out.

...dude that was low. In that situation you should ask her to recite her birthday without looking at the ID and see if she hesitates to do the math. You DON'T say this. If I were your boss I woulda fired your ass. I know you're doing your job, but there's a way to make sure somebody is old enough WITHOUT being insensitive. Although I agree with the others at the same time, she should have gotten a new ID after that.
