I'm happy to see sane people on this thread. News flash: it is seriously not a big deal if hair gets in your food (unless, like #7 mentioned above, it's a pube....). Guess what? We all have hair. It's hard to control. Shit happens. As long as I'm not a restaurant that I'm specifically paying for the experience (high-end restaurant), I don't care. It won't ruin my meal. It's still delicious.
And as far as hygiene goes, as far as I know, it is close to impossible to catch a disease from a hair.
It's gross though. I don't want to eat someone else's hair. Take precautions so it doesn't happen, but if it does, remake the dish. It's dumb to continuously complain, but the restaurant should remake it
Damn. As someone who works with the public and has seen these kinds of reactions I'm sorry OP. I hope it's not too difficult living with her.
People will only apologize so much before they stop caring
Sorry to hear that, OP. I used to work in the service industry and there are two types of people: that type, and the type who realize that accidents happen. Good luck in future eating endeavors.
Oh god, I know this feel too well. Sorry OP
How hairrible!
Perspective! Thank you! After someone has done everything reasonable to fix the situation, why do some people have to keep making a scene? What further benefit is there?
Holy shit that sounds EXACTLY like my mother!
45 year old child of a mother?
Just pick it out and keep eating, it's just a hair, not a big deal. You've probably unintentionally ingested worse before.

I still don't understand why people go so crazy over a stray hair in their food. Hair gets on everything. It's hardly the pandemic apocalyptic plague of epic proportions people make it out to be. It's probably the least deadly thing on your plate. Unless it's short and curly and the entire kitchen staff is bald. Then you are entitled to flip your shit.
That must have been hairyfying.
