Today, I brought my best friend to my uncle's birthday party. We were having a great time until my grandmother walked up to us and said to me, "You sure have a nice looking boyfriend." My friend is a girl. She has cancer and lost all of her hair due to chemotherapy. FML

After my first four comments which were mysteriously removed, I became angered by the apparent misuse of moderation and therefore lost touch with my conscience and posted the heinous comment I did. Either that, or strict subscribers to the Kubler-Ross philosophy flooded my inbox with words of "acceptance is the only way to move on in life, and if you do not perpetuate this in your fifth post we will gun you down."

I had chemo and lost all my hair also. Its really hard being a 16 year old girl and having no hair and getting all the looks and comments about being a punk/emo/boy ect. Let your friend know that iv been in her shoes and that i really do know how she feels. Im sorry.

obviously it would be a fml for the friend but it is also an fml for the OP since it's pretty obvious they care a lot about their friend and how she feels.... so sorry to hear that OP and I really hope they get through this, God bless!!

My grandma died 3 months ago. I had cancer at 16 and lost all my hair. Family is very important but friends are also. I dont know if i would have made it through without my friends. Stop being rude. This is probably something very hard on both ends. No need to post something rude with such a sensitive issue. if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all. (Bambi)
