Today, my parents decided to visit me. When I first got my apartment I gave them a key "just in case" and today they used this key to enter when I didn't answer their knocking. I didn't answer because I was having sex with my boyfriend. My parents saw everything. They didn't know I was gay. FML

YDI for giving your parents keys to your apartment. I would never give my parents keys to my apartment.

YDI for being gay. Feel bad for your parents

Really sucks to be you. Personally, I never would give ANYONE a key to my place unless they lived there specifically for this reason. I can understand the reason for giving them a key, but you have to keep in mind that to parents, "just in case" can be just because they want to be annoying and drop in on you at an inopportune moment, and you not answering the door won't stop them. So really, it's a rough way for you to come out to them, but they totally deserved it for not calling first. You should have made that a rule: they can have a key for "just in case" but they need to call before coming over. You're an adult with your own home, just because they have a key doesn't mean they have a right to invade your privacy.

YDI for being gay. Your parents must feel like failures

wow word for word a repeat fml, except possibly the ending?

that's almost exactly why i told my mom she couldnt have a key

To all the christian people out there. I'd like to point out that the whole "anti-gay" sentiment comes from the old testiment which Jesus cast aside for his new teachings. Which last time i read it said to love everyone. Hate the sin but not the sinner. Don't cast the first stone. Etc etc. All those lovely little things which mean you should shut up, lay off this guy and let him live his life. If he comes to you to repent; let him. If he is happy in his life style; leave him be. I mean how hard is it to follow the teachings of your own god or did you just not read the bible and listened to what everyone else told you it said? @OP - Rough way to have it broken dude. I got outted being Bi by my girlfriend at the time; she said it in front of my entire extended family because they thought everyone already knew. Even if they are homophobes the love they have for you as a child will over come it with some time. Good luck!

jesus never said that the OT was full of shit. As far as I remember, somewhere in the NT he specifically (sp?) says that he doesn't want to "cast it out".

Yes, it is true that Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. But even if he were, why would it be so wrong for a Muslim to be president?

Hell? Oh that's cute. Let's all wish the people we don't like to some imaginary place because we don't like them. How bout this, OP, go to heaven. Still, an imaginary place, just with good intentions now. Guess it doesn't matter either way, because neither place exists. Now, you could say "go to the ground inside a comfortable wooden box" and that would be alright. And that's really not derogatory, either, because it eventually happens to everyone. If we still want to continue on about the hell thing, thatbingoguy, go to hell, because you use abbreviations. Can't stand people who use acronyms.
