There are Gay Christians, Gay Catholics, etc etc. And yet those religions still dont accept their sexuality and most would ostracize them, except those few branches of Christianity that accept homosexuals. your argument is invalid.

A real hippie is actually a pretty spiritual person. That doesn't necessarily mean Jesus freak (though there are those kinds of hippies too), but spiritual all the same, so it's contradictory of you to say "**** you hippie" for getting on your religious tail. Unless they really DO consider themselves a hippie and are bitching about religion, then they're just a walking contradiction, especially since hippies are also about acceptance. I think you misread, 201. It seemed to me like 197 was trying to say if people want acceptance, they have to accept others as well. Whoever 197 was talking to apparently said "religious *******," so (s)he wasn't saying you couldn't be gay AND religious, but was saying "how can you demand me to accept you if you won't accept me (ie: a religious person)?"

so a sin is a sin, how is that an excuse to persecute thy neighbor? plus I believe that the bible actually means something about not reproducing for the christian race is bad. so if they are christians they should make babies so to aid the spread of christianity. Interperting the bible means everything. I think gay people are awesome personally. maybe they are here to test you?

Obviously there are good people who wouldn't do that.... but it's hard to believe that of the thousands of people who've had their hand in the Bible, not a single one of them would.

Mate, remember that the New Testament pretty much cancelled out the strict rules of the Old Testament. Do you eat pork? Leviticus says it's a sin. Are you or any of your mates uncircumcised? According to Leviticus that is unclean and sinful. There are dozens of examples of sinful behaviour set out in the old testament that are ignored today. For some obscure reason many Christian denominations are happy to ignore all of these rules except for the vague mentions of homosexuality being sinful. In their quest to eradicate their sin of choice they completely forget that the Bible expressly says that it's up to God to judge, not to humans, and that Christianity is about love.
