Today, while working at a Subway store right next to a big hospital, there was a big line of people all getting their subs toasted. Without turning around, I asked the next person in line, "I'll bet you want yours extra toasted?" She was a burns victim from the hospital. FML

Awkward. Well... did she?

Okay, so say she wasn't a burns victim, was that supposed to be a joke? 'Cause I did nottttt get it. It wouldn't have been rude under different circumstances, just pointless. But to a burns victim? Shameeeeeeee on you, hope you can't sleep at night. Accident or not, that was awfully careless.

#4, how is that rude? that seems like something you'd say just to make conversation unless it was in a snobby voice. but oh man that sucks :/ maybe the person didn't realize the connection that you made after saying it..?

why would you say that??

Yeah, can someone explain how saying "I bet you want yours extra toasted" is rude? Out of context, I mean. Obviously saying that to a burn victim is, but normally, how is that rude? I'm with #36 and everyone like him.
