Today, I was late to school for the third time this week because my alarm clock didn't go off. I clearly remembered setting it, so I videotaped myself sleeping. It turns out I've been turning off my alarm clock in my sleep. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, after buying 3 new alarm clocks, I finally decided to video tape myself all night to figure out if my alarm clock was broken or if I was oversleeping. Turns out I wake up around 4am each day and turn them off without remembering. FML
Wakey wakey
Today, I went to bed early, feeling responsible. At 2 a.m., I woke up in a panic because I forgot to set my alarm. While fixing it, I actually turned it off completely. I overslept, missed work, and proved once again that I should never trust myself. FML
Today, I heard my alarm go off, dragged myself out of bed, had breakfast and got ready for work. As I was heading out the door I checked the time again. It was 1:41 AM. Apparently my alarm never actually went off. FML
Learning curve
Today, I bought a new alarm clock because I kept sleeping through my phone alarms. The first morning, it went off exactly when planned. I promptly turned it off, went back to sleep for “5 minutes,” and woke up 3 hours later. The clock had been set correctly. I had just gone straight back to sleep. FML
Today, I set 3 alarms so I wouldn't miss an early morning event I was volunteering at. After I slept through the first one, my roommate turned the other two off without waking me up because they were annoying. I missed the event. FML
GET UP
Today, I set an alarm labeled "DO NOT BE LATE." When it went off, I turned it off, congratulated myself for being responsible, and promptly went back to sleep. I woke up two hours later. FML
Consent
Today, I fully intended to start going to the gym so I set my alarm an hour early so I could go before work and get it over with. Alas, when the alarm went off and I saw that horrible "5 a.m." on my phone, my brain put me straight back to sleep without my consent. I ended up being late for work. FML
Clever
Today, I thought I'd been really clever by setting my alarm ten minutes earlier to get up on time. I did wake up ten minutes earlier… then promptly fell back asleep for another hour. FML
Quick quick
Today, I woke up and saw that my alarm clock had fallen on the floor. It read 9:05 am. I panicked because I was late for work. As I frantically got ready, I went to pick my alarm clock up to place it back on my nightstand when I realized it was upside down. The actual time was 5:06. FML
Military time is best
Today, my phone alarm didn't go off this morning. Furious, I spent ten minutes complaining about technology before realizing I'd carefully set the alarm for 7:00 PM instead of 7:00 AM. The technology was actually innocent for once. FML

I do that ALL the time. What you need to do is set the one by your bed (the one I assume you are turning off), and then set another one across the room about five minutes later so you have to get up and turn it off. Between the two of them and having to walk across the room, it should wake you up. If it doesn't, set another across the room.

Hah. I turn off my alarm in my sleep every day as well. Hence I cover it with a book or something so I can't hit the button to shut it off :) Though lately I seem to have learnt to take the book off too :( so I just use my phone and leave it in a random place so I can't turn it off.

That's awesome. I hit my alarm all the time. Set 5 of them on my cell phone. Don't hear a darn one. I used to have 3 different alarm clocks. I just don't care if I miss things anymore. It happens way too often to stress out about.

I've done that and I know people who do that all the time. This isn't remarkable or anything. It's even easier to do if you have your alarm right next to your bed. I don't think I've turned off my alarm in my sleep ever since I got a loft bed since now I have to climb down the ladder and by then I'm usually fully awake.

yeah, i think we all do that, but who the video tapes themselves? the ipod alarm rocks so much that you will want to wake up, granted you rock and therefore you music would rock. I've never been so happy in the mornings waking up to awesome music. Put ur alarm on the other side of the room and turn it up so loud you jump out of bed, smack yourself, and go take a shower. Try getting to bed earlier too, that helps!

I do that too, just put the alarm on the other side of the room and hopefully you should wake up on your way over there. Or set four in four different locations.
