Today, I was assigned to write a short story about what we imagine Earth to be like in 500 years, and daily conflicts people experience. My teacher loved it and read it aloud to the class. He asked for my inspiration, and I didn't have the heart to say that I ripped off Mass Effect 3. FML

This. This is more of a morality issue than a legal issue. I didn't take it word for word (even though that's hard to do since it's a video game and not a book), I just used the concept.

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

I hope you put your own twist on it and didn't write just about how the game is, exactly. :|

There are plenty of people who find inspiration from video games. I mean, how many people use parts of the bible in their games and books?

I once used the Nautilus from FF3 as inspiration for an essay on futuristic devices. I say you did good.

Like.. I can't tell you your life sucks or YDI cause that's so awesome! You could just tell him you got your inspiration from gaming. But seriously dude, that rocks! Good job :)

I ripped off "Full Throttle" in 5th grade haha just because my teacher said he'd know if we copied a video game or movie. He was wrong.
