Today, I dropped my father-in-law's friend off at the airport, and I got in trouble because he ended up missing his flight. He only missed it because he forgot to check in. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Crossed wires
Today, as a good friend, I went to pick up my buddy from the airport. I arrived at the wrong terminal and waited for an hour before realizing he had landed an hour earlier at the other terminal. By the time I found his whereabouts, he'd already taken an Uber home. FML
Get back here
Today, I picked up a passenger from the airport who insisted he was late. Drove fast, dropped him off, felt efficient, then noticed his phone on the back seat. After circling trying to find him, I ended up back at the airport, where he was waiting because I’d taken him to the wrong terminal. FML
Chauffeur
Today, I struggled through a one hour traffic jam to get to the airport to pick up my dad who was just coming back from an overseas trip. I got there only to find that he had given me the wrong date, and I had to drive home. Best part? I have to do it all over again tomorrow. FML
Today, I was the only passenger on a completely booked flight to have all their luggage left behind in another country. FML
Today, I left my book on the plane after I'd finished reading it. The flight attendant thought I'd forgotten it, so he chased me through the airport, past security, past customs, and past baggage claims. I didn't have the heart to tell him I left it on purpose. FML
Let's go for a walk
Today, my friend and I were getting picked up by his dad after a carnival. As I put my stuff in the back of the car and shut the door to walk around to get in the other side, his dad drove off, thinking I was in the car, leaving me to walk up their hill. It was midnight and I ended up lost. FML
Today, due to bad weather, my dad let me take his car to drive to my apartment 3 hours away. I only realized when I got there that my keys were still sitting on my parents' kitchen counter. FML
Gated and confused
Today, I checked in for my flight, made it through TSA, bought food, and sat at the gate for an hour. I only realized I was sitting at the wrong gate when boarding for another flight finished and everyone had left. I ran to the correct gate, but it was too late. Despite me pleading, the plane was already taxiing to the runway. FML
Today, when I arrived at the airport for my international flight there was no record of my ticket in the system. Turns out the flight was yesterday. FML
Ratted
Today, one of my friends got me in trouble when he called our house and asked my parents why they didn't see us at a school conference. My parents were at a meeting elsewhere at the time, so I didn't bother to tell them about it, as we couldn't have gone there to begin with, and it was voluntary. They're mad anyway. FML

If you're old enough to have a father in law I don't see how you "got in trouble"...were you grounded, OP? :/

If this ain't the truest string of words ever put together in a sentence I've ever read, I dunno what is.

I think they mean they were told off or treated with a little bit of resentment.

I think OP probably means they got bitched out. Most likely by the father-in-law's friend.

I know guys, I was just joking

It's ok WC, I had a similar reaction to this FML.

Did you tell them to go and suck a ****? Because your father in law is a grown-ass man and you can't be accountable for his comings and goings.

The way this was worded, I definitely mistook you for a teenager.

No good deed goes unpunished, sorry OP :(

Sounds like he needed a full blown chaperone.... Not your fault op... Next time I guess drop him off at the bus station, and point him toward the short bus..:D
InfiniteSunshine 32
Yeah, this of his fault, not yours. What were you supposed to do, check in for him? He's a grown man and needs to take responsibility for his mistakes. You did him a favour by driving him, next time he asks for a ride there, tell him to find someone else, or take a cab, or the bus.

Maybe you should of went in with him and help him and rememind him I know it was a friend but mainly because he is older and get confused a lot but still his fault
domolovesyoshi 33
How old do you think he is? He could literally be in his 40's he is totally old enough to not need being held by the hand
iamdman 22
haha "old people". Older usually means wiser. This sounds like the kind of father in law that makes his wife lay out his clothes and pack his lunch because he would embarrass her.
wow2mylife 25
I thought 50 and 60s and I ment verbal him how it is

I'd like to hear from OP if the father-in-law was drunk, stupid or senile.

FML is about father-in-law's friend,not himself. ;-)

If you are old enough to drive, you can't get in trouble for things like this. You should no that. Hence, ydi
