Hot to handle
Today, my autistic son put me in the hospital for the eighth time since Xmas. I've been begging the council to put him into an adult care facility for my safety, yet they say he doesn’t meet criteria. Eight hospital visits. Does he need to kill me first to get their attention? FML

You should be able to petition the court if you do feel that he will continue to harm you. You'd have to go through the local court or department of human services in your area and provide a list of the times he's sent you to the hospital and possibly the reason (bruises, breakage, etc.)

I was in a similar situation with my daughter, who had multiple disabilities, including autism. She was an adult and was very violent at times, despite being on meds. I had a small child (her brother) and I feared for his safety. I ended up writing a letter to the local adult services office and said my son is in real physical danger from her outbursts and she needs to be placed now and needs a level of professional care that I can't provide, or I am going to drop her off and leave her at the hospital and let her become a ward of the state. She was placed within a week. This tactic had actually been suggested by someone at my daughter's school, as they had seen the adult services agency dragging their feet on stuff like this. Apparently someone had actually done this in the past (left their kid at the hospital).

You should have got him better presents.

Haha I upvoted this because I thought you wrote “parents” not “presents”

Maybe the son isn’t autistic and just wants to kill his mother
