Bad omen
Today, I think it's a bad sign when you have a fan going and several windows open in a room, yet you are still hot enough to be sweating even when you take off some of your clothes. Of course, I could be wrong. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, a bit of self-explanatory wisdom: When it’s 35°C out and you need a hot water bottle for your lower half, while needing a fan for your upper half, then something in your body’s self-regulatory system does not work as it should. FML
Today, in the middle of this heatwave, my mom has a fan in her bedroom and her precious dog has two fans pointing at her dog bed, which she apparently needs because she could overheat, poor thing. Meanwhile, I have zero fans in my room and can't sleep from the heat, but I get told to just deal with it. FML
Today, my AC stopped working. It's currently 3:08AM and I have 2 fans running, a cold washcloth on my neck, and a window open. It's still hot as hell. Thanks, Florida. FML
Today, my boyfriend is wearing a t-shirt and shorts. I'm wearing leggings, sweatpants, a vest, t-shirt, jumper and hoodie. If we turn the heating any higher, he starts overheating and sweating. At the current level, I'm still shivering. FML
Today, for the first time in at least two years, the temperature exceeded 100 degrees in my area. Except this time, it nearly hit 110. Even with my fan and air conditioner on the highest setting, my room was still burning hot. It's currently 11pm and the temperature has gone down… to 81 degrees. FML
Today, as I have my entire life, I live in the south. However, our AC decided to break and now it's 91 degrees inside the house, even with fans on and the windows open. FML
Today, I'm sitting in a disgustingly hot office with all the windows thrown open. There is no fan, and the owner won't let us use the air conditioner. The smell of mold permeates the room from the ceiling, giving me headaches by the end of the day. The owner refuses to get someone in to clean it. I can't quit. FML
Today, the lack of heating in my room has gotten to the point where I have to cuddle my clothes for the next day at night so they're not freezing when I wake up. FML
Today, I went to the tanning bed. I laid down in the bed and turned it on and the fan started blowing. There was a terrible smell and I thought it was the person before me. Then I realized it was just the fan blowing my sweaty feet towards my face. FML
Today, while sitting on the couch with my husband, I farted quietly. Not a big deal, except it's hot out and our fan was blowing in his face, and it stunk. FML

I grew up in Mississippi before my parents had air conditioning. And I am an engineer accustomed to using fans for electronic cooling. Here is what I can tell you: … (1) When it’s hotter outside than inside such as from noon to 7 PM keep the windows shut. You can use a fan inside to help you feel somewhat cooler, though… (2) Use maximum airflow from inside to outside and back out again to cool you when it’s cooler outside. The air needs a path in and a path out. For example a fan in one window blowing in and a window on the other side of the room for the air to blow out. Make sure to take advantage of the wind direction - don’t try to fight the wind with a fan, let it boost the natural wind direction… (3) When it’s cool outside at night use as much ventilation as you can to cool down your home or room since you are going to be counting on using that stored coolness during the heat of the day… By the way, as I write this my air conditioning has broken down and it will be a couple of days until the repairman can come. I am using this and it works. It’s not like AC but it is better than nothing… Finally, keep the sun out as much as possible because it adds to the heat. And thin cotton clothing (like a T-shirt) is cooler feeling than artificial fibers like polyester because it wicks sweat from your body and that helps to cool you.

I had that once and it turned out to be a severe allergic reaction. Definitely go ask a licensed medical professional about this.

If it's really hot outside, opening windows generally makes it worse, since you're letting the hot air in. Better to only air out when it's cooler out, towards the evening/night. Though, if this was during the eening/night, my apologies - I guess you're just SOL then. Best you can do then is put a bowl filled with water and ice in front of your fan, I guess.

It can also be a sign that your landlords changed your windows for some shitty panels with Dollar Store handles and a 4-in maximum opening, and all tenants who tried to open their windows further got them banging on the walls nearby at the slightest gust of wind. Take cool showers, moisten your forehead and neck with a damp cloth, and drink a lot of fluids.
