Today, the last person I invited to my birthday party called and said they couldn't come because another party "came up" and they "hope I understand". It's on December 31st. This happens every year without fail. FML

This happens occasionally to me because my birthday is on Valentines day, and it turns out people would rather have some romantic ******* than celebrate my birthday! But FYL

have you ever tried celebrating it earlier or later?

Ohh i know exactally how you feel... my birthdays the same day... its such a shitty birthday without a doubt

that sucks. like everyone else said, you should have it on a different day my birthday was yesterday but my party is tomorrow, then nye there is a party at a friends and then i am going to a friends birthday party on new years day. i'm sure your friends wouldnt mind going to two parties in a row :P happy birthday by the way :)

I too was born on 12/31. My 13th birthday was on Y2K. I spent weeks cleaning the house, sent out about 60 invitations. 1 person RSVP'd. 5 minutes before the party, her mother calls saying she can't come because she punched her brother in the face. A few days later, I saw her brother at school without any black eyes. I asked him what happened. He said his mother lied because she didn't want my friend away from home because the world was going to end. That was 10 years ago. I spent my 13th birthday alone.

So do your birthday party another day, December is the busiest month of the year just wait a month than throw a party people will actualy show up then.

Dude or dudette I totally get it. My birthday is December 31st so it always sucks too.

Happy Birthday to you. Mine's on the 1st January, so I usually have it a week or so after, if ever.

YDI for being that stupid. It's New Years... of course people are going to want to go to a New Year's party. My birthday is in the summer, and I've never had a birthday party on the WEEK of my birthday, never mind the day... because at least eighty percent of my friends are on holiday in the summer and there's never a date where everyone is at home (because my birthday is right in the middle of the holidays). Get over yourself and stop throwing a birthday party on the biggest party night of the year.
