So if you were in a convenience store one day and returned the next for a job interview would you wear only a condom you had purchased there the day before thinking that would be thing to wear because you had purchased it there? You're supposed to use judgement my friend. And it doesn't seem like you did that in this case.
Were you applying at Victoria's Secret or what?
Just because you purchased the outfit from the same store doesn't mean it was job appropriate. However, they should have explained to you how they wanted you to dress prior to setting up the interview if they knew that was going to be a deciding factor. Sorry you had to deal with that kind of BS hope you have better luck at your next interview.
So you spent $100 on one outfit? What were you planning to wear the next day?
Clothes that she already had...
YDI.... Your best bet is to dress for an interview, not like you shop there. The work dress code could have nothing to do with what is sold. If that was the case... Victoria secret employees would wear nothing but lingerie.... And that would be fantastic, but would never happen....

Did you point that out to the interviewer? I'd also like to know what it was you wore. Just because a company sells halter tops and short-shorts doesn't make it an appropriate outfit to interview with.
Yes, if you want to work at Victoria's Secret, you don't show up at the interview wearing a silk teddy and fishnet stockings. I'm hiring, though, and that outfit will totally work for me;)
