Also if u did get the job, u cu get clothes from that store for employee discount? Thought about that?
Technically, I think either would have been correct. The interview "belongs" to both the interviewer and the interviewee.
You could always just forget the clothes all together and stand on the side of the road. I'm sure that would get you some money.
Just wondering why on earth someone would blow their last $100 on AN outfit, a SINGLE outfit, for a job interview and not pay attention to what the other workers were wearing. Also, have you not heard of Goodwill stores and thrift shops? You probably could've gotten a full brand label outfit for under $10 that would've been appropriate.
You don't wear the same old clothes for a job interview. I'm guessing that clothing store isn't pant suits for women.
Just because they sell it, doesn't mean it's "work-appropriate" clothing

Did you point that out to the interviewer? I'd also like to know what it was you wore. Just because a company sells halter tops and short-shorts doesn't make it an appropriate outfit to interview with.
Yes, if you want to work at Victoria's Secret, you don't show up at the interview wearing a silk teddy and fishnet stockings. I'm hiring, though, and that outfit will totally work for me;)
