Today, I went shopping with my friend. The store was having a special where if you spend over $75 you receive a free T-shirt. I paid for my items and my total was over $75. The salesman didn't hand me a shirt so I asked him for one. He looks at me and says "I'm sorry, we only have Mediums." FML

Well, are you size medium or smaller? Your size is plain to see by everyone, if you're bigger than a medium, people are going to know and that's nothing to be ashamed of. It's a fact, not an insult.

Well...I'm assuming he folded the shirts into the bag, which meant he saw the tags. In that case, you can't really blame him, can you? It wouldn't be of much use offering a medium to a x-small.

Wow, that was pretty rude - how could he even know it was for you? I give away free gifts I get constantly, to friends and nephews and so on. If you spent the money, you deserved the shirt, what size was none of his business.

Wow. I have a friend who walked into a clothes shop, only to have a sales assistant say "I don't think any of our stuff will fit you." She's also been congratulated and asked when she's expecting - she's not pregnant.

Who cares what the sales guy said! If the OP is fat then people should call them out! I don't see how this is any different than people telling smokers they shouldn't smoke, and people seem to have no inhibitions about that! Exercise and maybe you'll look like a medium eventually!

Wow... I'm a pretty small girl myself and I usually get a large because the cheapy shirts that are usually used for free shirts are only good for relaxing around the house. It's really sad to see what counts as FML's.. be a big girl/boy and move the **** on. Starving kids in Africa and all that...

Uh, yeah, that's when you tell the employee that he/she is working at a clothing store for a reason and it's not to judge people by their weights, you complain the manager or person in charge and you get more free crap. I'll be damned before I let some high school or college student, much less a grown man or woman to tell me what size is good for me. Just give me the damn shirt and keep your opinions to yourself.

That counter guy is stupid though. You can't just assume that he or she is going to wear it. He/she can just be gift shopping.

Well *maybe* you wanted a size Medium for a friend or something. Who is he to skimp you on your free item? FYL.
