if i found something in my bag that wasnt mine, i would be asking people if they knew anything about it.before giving it away,hopefully you can get the ring back. just explain that its a family ring and you didnt know, and give the child a cheap ring in place of the other ring.
Ok, 1. Nobody decided to tell you they were gonna put an expensive ring in your purse? 2. Also, NVR assume its fake, hold on to it and ask around
You know what happens when you assume....
considering you didn't know about it, I think it's almost fair that you gave it away. Your mother, or your grandmother (assuming she's still alive) should have told you the ring was there, and made you aware of its value.
this makes no sense. why would your mother stick it in your purse and not tell you. and didn't you wonder where it came from?
Why in heaven's name did somebody just stick it in your purse without telling you?
You probably should have at least checked with somebody before assuming it was fake
