They’re usually only sore for the first few days after tightening, acetaminophen and ibuprofen will help alleviate the tenderness. You’ll be able to eat normally after the soreness lessens. Smoothies and soft foods will help you feel satiety during those first few days. Best of luck to you!
I had braces for 3 years as well as other intense hardware. I promise you will get used to them and will be able to eat mostly normal. Just avoid things like hard candy, gum and popcorn and you'll be fine. Good luck OP!
Calm down. You'll be used to them in less than a week and eating normally.
when i had mine, dentist used temperature sensitive wires. so we would go get ice cream first thing after the appointment and id take some pain meds before i go in. give it a week and you wont even realize that your wearing them
You've had them for one day. As a former patient of braces, I assure you, you can eat 95% normally for the duration. The pain and soreness will fade relatively quickly.
