Today, we found out that my unborn sibling is a girl, and my parents quickly named her. In a few years' time, "Candida" is going to catch all kinds of shit at school, just like I do for being named Dorothy. My "friends" have already started calling me "Lil' yeast infection's sis." FML

I knew a girl named Candida growing up. lets see, she was a model, learned how to fly a helicopter, worked up in the artic on the big machinery, just because, learned how to stunt ride harleys and tour woth the company.... So...what's wrong with the name?

It is an association with the name. person I knew never was teased about her name. She was a bigger personality than what anyone could have tried to bring her down with due to just her name. Which means dazzlingly white in latin, hence why yeast was given that name. OP can moan about her name and her soon to be siblings name and let what others say about it define them; or simply be a personality that really doesn't let people ponder too much on insults. Simple opinion. Others seem stuck on the ew yeast factor so...continue thumbing down.
