Most stores keep a record of all transactions done. Esp if it's under 30 days. Go back to the store you bought it from and ask them to reprint your recipe.
Why didn’t you return it after you figured it out it was defective?! If you don’t want your mom cleaning your place then you need to say something. Besides she is too old to be picking up after you. You brought this on yourself.
People have work and other things that need to be done. He only had it for a few days. Most likely just didn't have the time to return it yet.
Leave a bunch of kinky sex toys and **** scattered around the house. She'll never bother you again.
My mother loves to move my things without telling me now my wife does it so I feel your pain
You’re legally covered anyway by Australian consumer law, if the item is faulty they must take it and either give you a refund, exchange or credit. Doesn’t matter if you have the box or not.
Tell her about all the money her intrusion cost you, ideally while crying so she feels really guilty. Then discuss boundaries which you should have done ages ago (Nobody should be in your home behind your back like that, it's weird). Then tell her that since she's such a snoopy, privacy-violating person you can't trust her to even give back her key without copying it so you're changing the locks. Be sure she knows that this means she's cost you $X more. Maybe she's not too old to learn to be a decent person.
Get smart. Go buy another one. Take the packaging from that one, Return the defective one in the new packaging with the new receipt angrily demanding your money back for selling such crap for that amount of money. Problem solved.
Change you locks! Make sure your mom never gets in again without your being there. While I sympathize with the loss to OP - This was entirely preventable had he established boundaries a long time ago.
