Call a professional, and have them remove the hive. Don't try it yourself, unless you are absolutely sure that you know what you're doing. Also, don't abandon the house just for that. I guarantee that a professional wasp-remover is much cheaper than living on the street.
If your husband has the balls, and proper protection, he can go down and destroy the hive and kill the queen. The remaining wasps will rebuild the hive and breed a new queen. Destroy it. And so on... After a few times, they will move.
