Today, my husband warned me we had a yellowjacket swarm move into our basement. He wasn't kidding. I'm phobic after I was swarmed as a kid, I'm watching our bug zapper literally smoke with how many it's killing, and my can of wasp spray seems woefully insufficient. They can have the house! FML

Call a professional, and have them remove the hive. Don't try it yourself, unless you are absolutely sure that you know what you're doing. Also, don't abandon the house just for that. I guarantee that a professional wasp-remover is much cheaper than living on the street.

If your husband has the balls, and proper protection, he can go down and destroy the hive and kill the queen. The remaining wasps will rebuild the hive and breed a new queen. Destroy it. And so on... After a few times, they will move.
