Today, while working as a plain clothes police officer, I witnessed a fight in a front yard. My partner and I intervened and clearly identified ourselves as police. Unfortunately, the two guys' mother didn't have her hearing aid in, and hit my arm with a baseball bat. FML

She heard you, they just pretend to not hear you so that they can try and not get arrested for assaulting a police officer hope you arrested her

That's what you got for wearing plain clothes. Throw those rags out and spice it up with some fluoro pink shirts and electric orange pants. And would it kill you to wear some glitter every now and then?

If I had a nickel for every time I got hit with a baseball bat every time I was in someone's front yard...

If you had a dollar after that, I'd think you'd be in the emergency room. XD By the way... your username... does it come from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"?

Yes it does and I encourage you to check the profile. The way the economy is, I'll need more than a dollar, so I guess I'm kind of screwed.

True. You'd need about sixty-five bucks at the very least for every time you got hit with a baseball bat. Plus expenses. *goes to check the profile*

I just saw the movie last night. I'm still confused as to how you can have your nostrils raped... XD

You're probably right. 0.0' I still can't stop laughing at what happened at the tower where they had the grail-shaped beacon and... XD And that rabbit was dynamite. And they had to use the holy hand grenade to get rid of it. And in the end, they never even got the grail.

You're supposed to put a "***Spoiler Alert***" in the beginning of your post =) The Castle Anthrax is a place I would very much like to visit, especially if they keep getting new "help" and "doctors." Also, my bucket list has "Building a large, wooden badger" on it, too. =D

ah, sweet, sweet deserved pain. that old lady is my hero! =w=

Well I feel bad for Undercover(OP) That sucks. Ill ne honest thow Once The Mathew Schephard Act becomes law I'll love the Police even more.

Not sure if I understood your post correctly, but I think you said: "Well, I feel bad for Undercover (OP). That sucks. I'll be honest though, once the Mathew Shephard Act becomes law, I'll love the police even more." If that's what you said, I second that! I think discrimination against someone for their sexual orientation is -bleep-ing ridiculous.

And and and! Being allowed to assault someone and not get fully punished for doing so is... well... I'll let the people who use the swearwords around here insert their expletives.

I just realized something... I think, for once, in the history of FML, no one has come in screaming "Fake!" Awesome. =)

Sucks for you Undercover, hope you didn't break anything. That said, it comes with the job, I've had much worse...

Apparently you failed your training of situation evaluation. You didn't see the bat? You didn't see the old bag comming at you with it? Your partner didn't have your 'back'?!? News flash (which would also be covered in training); Just because you identify yourself as a police officer, doesn't mean EVERYONE there heard it or understands it. Even IF they do, they don't all like you being there.

YDI for being a "plain clothes" police officer. Even if she had heard, why exactly is she supposed to believe you? Anyone can say they're a cop. And for that matter, what's the point of not wearing your uniform? So you can trick people and catch them off guard? Yeah, YDI.

That's pretty much the whole point of some cops wearing plain clothes, to hide their identify as a law enforcing officer. They do have to identify themselves as cops if they have to use force, which was what op did.

... Even facepalm isn't strong enough to describe this failure :.
