Today.. was the first time I had been out in public since I was involved in a hit & run(myself as a pedestrian), the whole time I was out with my partner and his mother, my partner got dirty looks and people stared at me non stop. Everyone believed that he bashed me #nevergoingoutagain FML

Don't let those looks deter you. People will assume many things while they don't know the truth, and since you're not going to stop everyone who passes you to tell them you were hit by a car, you're just going to have to ignore them until the bruising, swelling, and whatever else, goes away.
