Today, my mom walked in on me in the bathroom, naked, massaging my crotch with a towel. She later gave me a long lecture on the evils of masturbation. I wasn't masturbating, I was drying off after a nice shower. FML

Your mother has some very antiquated views that are rather incorrect. It's also your body, so as long as you aren't doing it with or on items used by other people, or doing it compulsively, it's kind of dumb for her to tell you that you can't do something that tends to be beneficial for your body.
