Today, my brother called to tell me that the Thanksgiving vacation to spend time with my father, stepmother, and adopted brother in Colorado has been cancelled due to COVID shutting down every restaurant, which would force us to be stuck in the hotel for six days. My father is ailing and this meant a lot to him. FML

If your father isn’t in the best health condition then maybe plan some Zoom type day together. Even maybe think of some activities to do all together— you don’t want to get your Dad sick and then never get to see him again 😕

OP here. His sickness is that he is slowly losing his eyesight and his world has been getting smaller since he can't drive or go hunting anymore. We're hoping for new plans next year, but it's still sad that we can't get to see him and spend time with him and his family.
