Today, it's the third day my ring won't come off. I used soap, vegetable oil, lotion, soaked my hand in ice to make the swelling of my finger to come down, and even my mom pulled so hard she dislocated my finger. FML

baby oil? happened to me that's what I used. no guarantees but it worked for me

wow, can't believe some of the people on here... it really isn't that uncommon to get a ring on and not be able to get it off. I know someone who had to get her wedding ring cut off because, after 20 years of wearing it, she had developed arthritis and her knuckle had swollen making it impossible to get the ring off. The ring was able to be fixed and resized. It also depends on the weather too. In summer your fingers swell, so if it was a tight-fitting ring put on in winter it may not come off in summer due to the change in finger size. Or perhaps the person has put on weight.

see a doctor and lower your sodium intake, same thing happens to me, take a diuretic and that should help

lay off of the sodium in your diet. drink lots of water. eat low sodium food. keep twisting it in a circle.

After reading all the comments, here is a mix of everyone's suggestions, and my own twist (its a fun one) So, lay off the salt. Then, after 1-2 days, get ready to have a little fun. You will need your husband, windex, and something to support your arm. Now, raise your hand in the air (use the support), in order to help the blood flow away from your finger. Then, get your husband to "pleasure you" down south. Now blood should be rushing down there as well. After a little while (5-10 min), get your husband to use windex on your finger, and try to get the ring off. Continue this for a little while. If this still doesn't work, then go to the doctors. Worst case scenario: you go to the doctors. Automatic benefit: You get to have some fun and pleasure =]
