Yeah, good idea. It's not like she's going to vomit it back up. Ok, sarcasm aside, what the **** is wrong with your family? It's one thing to make the child sit at the table until she eats her dinner (which is how it's normally done), but to force feed her by closing her air passages and shoving food into her mouth is straight up abuse. OP, YDI for just sitting there watching this all happen. You could've at least said something, but nooooo. You think, "Oh, **** my life!" No, **** that child's life!

I hope you take her to hospital or a doctor if you haven't already (even if it was a while ago) to check there is no damage. if she passed out that could have cut off oxygen to her brain and body been damaging by the sound of it. she also could have choked on that food. it is abuse to make her eat it like that. It really isn't on and it might be you have to call child protective services or soemthing and get some advice or report because even though they aren't trying to abuse her, that behaviour is wrong and really dangerous and the fact that her parents do not realise that is worrying.

Pretty sure that counts as child abuse. Pinning her to the floor, force feeding her, and then blocking her airways until she's rendered unconscious is horrifying. And you watched them do this? Do you have brain damage? No adult in their right mind would allow such a terrible thing to happen to a child, let alone one they're related to. The right thing for you to do now is contact CPS, and tell them what happened, because I get the impression that your niece isn't old enough to do it herself, and that her parents may do things like this when they're alone, seeing as though that was their go-to response when she refused to eat. However, I get the feeling you'll end up sweeping this under the rug, because you, your brother, and his wife, are horrible people who should never be allowed near kids again. Hell, I'd adopt her if it meant keeping her away from all of you. I hope someone responsible finds out, and the three of you find your asses in jail. You make me sick.
