Today, I politely complimented a stranger's excellent posture. She responded by saying "I have a metal rod in my back." FML

you should've smiled and winked and said "oooh, so THAT'S your secret." *nod, elbow nudge* like you're part of some kind of special, elite straight-back club. pat them on the back and walk off.

Please, go back to English class. You clearly need it. I can barely understand what you are attempting to say.

Nobody even knows what you're trying to say. Why do people make FML so difficult? :)

my first thought was a scoliosis patient, and when i had my rod in, i would be GLOWING all damn day for that compliment. FYL indeed that you managed to find the one bitch who actually liked having a ****** up back.

Reminds me of this one chick I knew who has a metal rod in her back. I think she said the same thing to some people who complimented her posture, complete with a withering look.

no big deal. I was recently reading over my ballots from a debate tournament I competed in and one of my judges insulted my posture. upon reading this I said aloud that I have scoliosis and shouldn't be judged on the way it makes me stand. but it's not like the judge knew from looking at me that I had a physical problem. just like you can't look at someone and know they have a metal back. you were simply trying to be nice. this person obviously can't take a compliment and shouldn't be so touchy. FTL for being unhappy with themselves.

well I guess if he had a nice posture lol op

I honestly don't understand how this is an FML. one of my good friends had scoliosis and had to have surgery where they straightened her spine then put in a steel rod that's as long as her back. its a reasonable answer people. get over it.

not a reasonable answer to a stranger. you don't sit there explain your life story. like if a stranger came up to me and said they love my hair, I'd say thank you and keep walking. I wouldn't say it used to be brown and I hate it cause I don't know the person. the chick was a bitch.

I was once complemented on my posture. I was a bit bemused. I said thanks, but in my head thought that posture was an odd thing to notice in a stranger, and even more so to mention it to them.

No you weren't. You were *complimented*. Complement is a totally different word. They're not interchangeable.

Autocorrect. Excuse the **** out of me.

damn rofl. how were you supposed to know. person should of said thank you instead of their whole life story. hate people like that
