I'm shocked at the amount of the support for the sense of entitlement to the money randomly found. What the mom did was not cool, but you can't get mad for her taking money that wasn't yours a few seconds earlier. This is very reminiscent of the Ultimatum game and its variants.

I'm on the fence about this. I don't like that she took it but I can somewhat understand why she did. If she's a good parent she feeds you, clothes you, takes care of you, etc. and could be putting that $40 towards gas or food or something. I probably wouldn't have taken $40 had that been me because that's $100 less of my money for you to ask for and spend.
