Today, at my work, I was ringing though a kid's purchase. I try to be friendly with the kids and when he handed me his cash I said "Thank you, sir!" in a playful manner. He then turns to his mom and says "Mom, why does everyone think I am a boy?". FML

WTF is wrong with idiots to say something like that?? So if the girl is a bit of a tomboy or the boy has a less burly appearance the parents are bad?? As in, you'd find it better if they lived like in the 50's, forcing the girls to have long hair "because you won't be a true female if we let you cut your hair, now... go wash the dishes and learn to clean the house and serve your man" and that sort of crap? For all we know, maybe the girl liked having short hair and the parents raised her in an open and intelligent setting without the blatant sexism and all, and so she doesn't knows why she's sometimes mistaken for a boy. If the lack of blatant gender-stereotypes equals bad parenting for you, I hope you don't plan to breed!!

my little half brother used 2 get mistaken for a girl all the time because he had long hair dredlocks though and he was really tiny and cute so he looked like a girl

It should be the kid's FML lol. "Today, some cashier bitch thought I was a boy. And knowing this, they still referred to me as "he" 5 times in their last FML. FML

Awh, it doesn't matter. From when I was 7 to 10, I was a "7 year old boy". I'm a 15 year old girl. Doesn't matter OP, kid'll get over it when she grows her hair out.

One of my friends got mistaken for a girl when he was a kid He still is being mistaken for a girl today (He is gay and effeminate)

A young girl with short hair can look much like a boy, but doesn't mean she's going to be 'butch' in ten years.

Ha ha, I work in a nursing home, and something similar happened to me. Except it was really creepy. I was delivering some food to one of the nurses' stations, and I walked by an old man being pushed in a wheel chair. He looked at me, and then he looked up at the person pushing him and said "She's pretty!" I'm a guy. FML XD

omg i hate when people make their little girls look like boys!!
