Thanks, but no thanks

Today, I held the door for an elderly woman. As she walked through, she looked at me and told me I was a very handsome man and that I should meet her grandson. The woman was my grandmother, and yes, I'm straight. FML

That's actually incredibly sweet. She called you handsome and was scouting out a partner for you.

Well sometimes you just have to take things that old people say with a grain of salt. She is probably just old and senile.

But isn't that the ultimate compliment?

Wait. Did your grandmother literally suggest that you go **** yourself?

No worries, my grandma always embarrasses me in front of people all the time. Lol.

What does your sexuality have to do with it? Maybe she thought you were a girl

"She looked at me and told me I was a very handsome man." Sorry, it sounds like she did recognize his gender.

could have just been saying I want you to meet him thinking that they could be friends, instead of automaticly assuming she is trying to hook him up

I want a grandma that would try to get me with somebody.

Am I the only one who thinks the real FML part about this is not that his grandmother tried to hook him up with another guy, but that (she) probably has Alzheimer's? The entire situation really sucks op :( I'm glad you're spending time with your grandmother, good luck with everything that's gonna happen in the near future!

Best parts about having Alzheimer's is hiding your own Easter eggs and meeting new and exciting people everyday!

Just stand in front of a mirror. See! You met her grandson.

So she was going to introduce you to yourself? At least you know you would get along
