One a day, so they say

By jazzie7719 - This FML is from back in 2014 but it's good stuff - United States - Arlington

Today, I went into an exam room to do a check-up on one of my patients. I told the little girl's mother that she needed her flu shots. When the girl heard this, she took an apple out of her pocket and threw it at me. FML

I guess an apple a day really does keep the doctor away.

I'm just surprised she kept an apple in her pocket, expecting to have to throw it at you lol

As the old saying goes "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away." Though in your case it might actually send you to a doctor of your own.

For as rabid and nasty as I got with my doctors about shots when I was younger, I can't recall throwing anything at them. Other acts of violence were still fair game!

I tweaked out my first time getting blood drawn. Was terrified of needles and seeing that large gauge needle... Let's just saw a nurse nearly lost an eye.

If I was you, I would have probably faked a really over-dramatic reaction to try and make her laugh, to try and change the mood.

...apparently doesn't keep repeated comments away

I got the flu shot and then two weeks later got the flu anyway. Never got it again and I haven't had the flu since. Guess I'm lucky.

I hope you were able catch the apple...then the situation would be whole lot different..angry kid looking at you and the kids mother winking at you...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's because they actually inject you with a weaker strain of the virus so your body produces antibodies to fend it off, so there are a number of people who get a weaker version of the flu from a flu shot but it prevents a worse case from happening.
