Emergencies can't be choosers

Today, my mom argued with me that I should have went to an emergency room a further 18 minutes away from me, during a near fatal allergic reaction, so I would've received "better care." FML

Today, my mom cussed me out because I'm "the only one who didn't really care," I "didn't try hard enough" to find a hospital to accommodate my older sister's (and her beloved little baby's) condition. I tried over 20 hospitals, and those that had an MRI facility couldn't take her because of the mere fact that she wouldn't fit in them. FML

"Sorry mom, next time I nearly die I'll make sure I'm closer to the 'better' hospital".

If you were taken by ambulance they don’t have any choice as to where they bring you if it’s a life threatening emergency. I should know because I once got stung by an insect in my leg while downtown and my usual hospital is in the suburb of where I live over twenty minutes away. My face was swollen so badly they rushed me off to the county hospital two minutes away. I had no choice. They told me my face was swollen enough, I could be dead by the time I reached the hospital 20 minutes away. I was there most of the night and had to take a cab ride home and due to how serious it was I am glad they didn’t listen to me. It was bad enough my throat was starting to close and they had to do three rounds of Epi on me.

she has no common sense obviously, but where did you go that she didn't approve of? Just curious.

"Should have went"...? No one is checking these?
