Today, I got chickenpox. I'm 28 and having chickenpox as an adult is excruciatingly painful. When I told my boss I wasn't going to be at work today because of chickenpox he replied, "That's the worst excuse I've ever heard. Adults don't get chickenpox." He then fired me. FML

Today, while working as a veterinary assistant, an owner stood extremely close to me and kept accidentally petting me instead of her dog. After her dog was examined, she asked me if I'd ever had the chickenpox because she has shingles and it's contagious to those who haven't. I haven't. FML

Today, I'm halfway through of packing my stuff as we are moving to another flat. I discovered that I got chickenpox, which means that I should do no hard physical work. I've got a fever and a headache. It started raining in the morning, so loading stuff to truck is going to be so much fun. FML

Today, my boss forced me to come into work despite having a bad cold. While waiting a table, I violently sneezed and sprayed a child's face with snot. His dad got so pissed that my boss had to pretend to fire me just to calm him down. FML

I'm sure there are ways to get your job back. And unfortunately, in this economy you really do need whatever job you can get...so even if you have to work with a jerk, go for it. :/ And I hope you feel better.

first off.. go to the doctor and get a note bring it to your dumb ass ex boss and file a lawsuit.. he CANNOT fire you for something like the chickenpox's. Then if you want demand your job back.

You're boss is a retard. Send him a picture and then sue his ass. I'm 21 and haven't had chickenpox. Even though my parents chucked me in with the kids that had chickenpox when I was younger - I just never caught them!
