You should tell your parents and have them report it to the school board. That Ass of a Counselor should be fired for speaking to you like that. They could have at least corrected you.
Ahh, I hate guidance counselors. I want to be an astronomer or astronaut, too. Unless you actually meant astrologist, haha, I don't believe in that shit. Anyway, to the people calling the OP stupid for mistaking astrology and astronomy, big deal. I bet you guys have made a worse mistake than that, and even if the OP didn't know the difference/got them mixed up, that's pretty easy to mistake. And it doesn't make the OP stupid. The English language has so many words and rules that don't even make sense..
"And it doesn't make the OP stupid. The English language has so many words and rules that don't even make sense." How can you possibly be confused by "this word means one thing, and this word that is spelt differently and pronounced differently means something entirely different"? Surely it's one of the simplest possible rules of language? Astronomy. Astrology. Different words, different meanings, and not hard to grasp at all, ESPECIALLY if your intended profession is one of them. Do you get confused by pencil and penis?
Astrology IS horoscopes. Astronomy IS Space. Your counselor was right, you are stupid.
After I scored a perfect on my SOLs, my teachers called up my mom incredulously to tell her that they thought that I was actually stupid. Shows what they know. Also, I know what It's like to be thinking one thing but actually say the wrong thing. I'm sure you said the right thing in the counselor's office but accidentally wrote it wrong down here. Anyway, I hope that you report her, or at least get your parents to do something. She definably does not deserve to keep her job, since she's doing so badly.
LMAO! Time to change counselors!
Those of you who have called the OP stupid... If you have ever written "effect" when you meant "affect" (for example) are also morons. Also, who's to say that the OP didn't simply have a slip of the tongue? I wouldn't say that meaning to say one word but saying another makes you stupid. :] And even if the OP didn't know the difference between an astronomer and astrologist, the more disturbing thing is that the guidance counselor didn't bother to say it tactfully, which is part of their duty. ;D
"If you have ever written "effect" when you meant "affect" (for example) are also morons." If I made a mistake like that, while saying "I love learning about the english language and the affect it has had on my childhood, so I'm going to get a phd in grammar" then I'd get your point. Otherwise that analogy is pretty meaningless.
You kinda deserved it, unless you actually want to study astrology and the zodiac.
there are different names for the same things people say psychologist when they mean psychiatrist that doesn't make them stupid I think you should still be whatever you want to be, and not listen to guidance counselors they all suck. i've never met one whose opinion i would take seriously.

Your counselor probably had a point. If you were interested in space you would want to be an astronomer, not an astrologist.
Oh my god, that's horrible.
