Who's the mature one around here?

Today, it's my dad's birthday, and because my brother wanted more pancakes than he was allowed, he screamed at the top of his lungs, "You ruined my birthday!" He's 47 and my brother is 5. FML

Welp, that's it, birthday ruined. Maybe he can try to be born again next year.

Oh hon, your father is very immature and I pity you and your brother. Is this typical of your father, or new behavior? If typical, I think it's time to start treating him like the spoilt, immature child he is. If it's new, perhaps someone should suggest to him that he get an evaluation (or start acting his age!). Good luck.

wait who screamed? the dad or the brother?

The dad screamed. "Today, it's my dad's birthday, and [because my brother wanted more pancakes than he was allowed,] he screamed at the top of his lungs…" If you remove the bracketed independent clause, the sentence becomes, "Today, it's my dad's birthday, and he screamed at the top of his lungs…"

Is this a Freaky Friday situation and your father and brother switched bodies? That seems like the only logical conclusion for his behavior.

how old is your dad? you may want to get a psych evaluation, he may be suffering from early stage dimentia. especially if this is atypical behavior. or you can take everyone else's advice and abandon him. that totally makes sense, dads suck, am i right lol.

Psych evaluation? Early stage dementia? The dad's just an idiot.

but where is everyones advice saying to abandon him?

Your brother is only allowed a certain number of pancakes? Plus, your dad is a moron.

Well maybe there was a certain amount of pancakes for everyone and the kid being 5, wanted way more than he'd even be able to eat..

Or maybe the kid, being 5, is only allowed to have a certain number of sugary things to eat, or it's to keep him from eating too much.
