Today, while opening up to a few friends about how I was sexually abused as a child, one of them blurted "Pics or it didn't happen." How did the others react? With outrage? No, just with awkward chuckling. FML

It might be time to re-evaluate your friendships. For the ones who chuckled that could have been a reflex response but for the one who made the comment I would probably have hurt had I been in your shoes thats not something that should ever be joked about and especially when it's somebody opening up

When I tried to give my parents just a piece of the reasoning behind my suicide attempt, they laughed too. It's awful, and I'm really sorry, OP. Some people may just have no clue how to react to those kinds of things.

Are you ******* KidDing me? What are these friends of yours? Twelve year olds trying to sound cool and who grew up with insensitive parents? Sorry, OP. If I'd have been there, that "friend" of yours would have been knocked out or worse.

I'm sorry about what happened, OP. But I don't think you should be friends with people that are so insensitive

you deserve better, those are not friends....

**** your friends. They sound too immature

Some people Jair don't know how to deal with serious shit so they go to humor. It normally leads to disasters like this. I used to be that way before I became more socially aware

There are some things that u should never say to anyone, like this for example

Be forgiving. This is an uncomfortable subject for many people and they may just not know how to react.

Are they idiots? Yes. But they probably just didn't know how to react. It's not that they don't care about you or what happened to you; it's impossible to find the words to say when someone trusts you enough to confess it.
