I understand where you are coming from though. I'm just saying that cars kill people and OP drove in a way that was dangerous so ya can't really claim it's an accident in a situation like that. I'm sure OP didn't mean to cause an injury (if one was caused) but to expect not too when your using a car to stop someone isn't really that bright. This is just one of those times I reakon that we will have to agree to disagree and to also say that since we weren't there we can't really fully understand the situation.
BobbieH: You misunderstood. All but one of my replies (the first one) was directed at llama612, not MsKati. llama612: Since when is pulling out of a parking lot driving recklessly? It isn't. And I'm not twisting your words, that is what you're saying. What part of 'to block the thief' don't you understand? He WASN'T trying to hit him. I believe that this is as close to a common ground as we'll get, so I'll just leave it alone. Cheers.
Shitty cops
To maninthemachine He was driving recklessly because he drove in a way that endangered the safety of another person it doesn't matter if you drive 2 feet or 200 feet if you're purposefully doing it so it endangers someone then it is driving reckless. He may not have been trying to hit him but it's common sense to know when you use a vehicle in that way there is a good chance someone will get hurt. I gotta admit I'm looking at this from a mostly legal point of view and in the eyes of the law the situation is the driver purposefully drove in a way that endangered someone with willful knowledge that it could cause harm. I honestly think though we could spend all night arguing about this just for the sheer reason we are going off what we think happened and not what we saw. Without thinking of it in a legal way I could say it was an accident and you know shit happens. Like I said I see your point I understand your point completely I was just sharing what my opinion and also sticking up for Mskati and unfortunately it escalated from there. This is my final say on it :)
I guess from a strictly legal point of view it makes sense. You've gotta admit though, some laws should be modified to some extent. That way an argument like this wouldn't have happened. :)
Wow you just can't help
Which is why it's dangerous for people not trained on how to handle criminals to try and handle criminals.
I can't help but think legally it's a bit of a bad habit in situations like this when I do lol. Some laws do need to be changed to an extent I agree fully on that there are some really confusing and stupid laws lol.
This is a perfect example of why people don't like to get involved in situations that will help those in need. It's really sad that main stream society is this way.
I agree with most of what you said, except the "assaulting people who are stealing from you." If someone breaks into my house and tries to steal my stuff, you can be damn sure I'm going hit them and do whatever the hell I can to protect my stuff. No way am I going to just let them walk out with all my valuables.
