Today, I thought I was finally connecting with my new kitten when she was looking at me closely and letting me pet her. The moment was quickly ruined by her sinking a claw into my eyeball. FML

You stared too long and too closely. When kitty stares at you, blink slowly and look away.

As an autistic and a cat guardian, I can say that to some extent you do speak the truth. However, one can have a cat connect with them. It's just gotta be all on the cat's terms. Being up close enough for one's eyeball to be in range when y'all have just met...that wasn't it. Would YOU want a gigantic stranger looming their huge face at you Majora's Mask style? Doubt it.

One simply cannot connect with a cat. Cats are the autists of the animal world.

My best friend is autistic and she is the most lovely person. So if you consider cats to be autists, sure, send 'em my way :D

Get a dog. Dogs love cats. They taste yummy.

I will consider you nuts if you didnt kick her out of your home OP. Btw, can the damage to your eye be surgically corrected or that eye of yours is gone forever now?

Commit to the scene, get an eye patch and change your cat to a parrot, and start looking for gold

You know how they say. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. After that it's fun and games without depht perception.

So now she is looking for a new cat since this one suddenly disappeared.

I already knew cat eyes were a thing but this puts a new spin on the term.
