So long, grandpa

Today, I took home my grandpa's ashes. I then went out with my grandma, leaving my 5-year-old at home with my 12-year-old. When I got home, my beaming 5-year-old opened the door, covered in white powder. My grandmother asked where all the powder had come from. She pointed to the empty ashbox. FML

Common sense should have been used here: Keep out of reach of children.

That is so awful. Why the hell did you leave something that important where your five-year-old could get at it?? Why was she not informed that this was an absolutely hands-off item? Why was she beaming? There is so much wrong with this. Your poor, poor grandmother. :(

well at least she got a chance to connect with grandpa in ways never thought possible.

@ #26 Just cause something is legal - doesn't mean it's a good idea ;p

At least after he passed your grandpa got to be with the ones he loved

#35 that's disgusting...and hilarious

Im 12 and when I babysit I keep watch and play with them at all time ; that 12yr old was just irresponsible : im ashamed to have that 12 yr old represent us... but still my cousin is 6 and she is INSANE at 5 she easily could have climbed somewhere to see the new item moomy brought home ;] especially unattended like that sorry about your grandpa]; and no offense to you for the 12 yr old stuff :D

Do you want a cookie for babysitting and being twelve? Big deal, they still should have hired someone.

I won't join the blame giving on here... you probably feel like $hit already. Don't! Stuff happens, you know. As gruesome and devastating the whole thing might seem... would your grandfather be upset? I know that if a kid I loved did this to MY ashes, I'd be having a VERY hard laugh :) And stop the blame game. This is just life.

Nigga made it rain in that ho ahahahahha! but seriously that's nasty

YDI. Don't keep Grandpa where 5 year olds can get him.

It sucks more so for the kid who then realizes what he/she did when they're older. They're going to have to live with the fact that they spread their great grandfather's ashes all over them for fun. That sucks.

why was a 12 year old responsible for a 5 year old? its one thing if you leave a 12 year old home alone but to have a 12 yr old responsible for another being?? and why would you put that in their reach YDI!!!!!
