It could have been a lot worse! I'm 15 years old and left the cardboard under the pizza when I put it in the oven.. Burnt down the whole kitchen.

That must have been awful! Don't worry we all have some bazaar story. My husband was checking out his dads shot gun...at 15, Blew the French doors to bits. My son sprayed the highest, strongest bear spray in our house. Took months to get it out. You can't see that stuff. (we go in the wild a lot quading 4 wheeling)

Package it back up and get a different one. Defective! Being new it should have Timers. It may not have been your fault.
