Unless an actual family runs the store, DON'T USE THAT TERM! In the working world, it usually means that emotional blackmail can and will be used.
Don't try that trope again. Everyone knows it's a lie. If it were me, I'd wonder what else you would lie about were I to accept this job.

In other words, you’ll be expecting her to bend over backwards for your business. She just wants to work for a paycheck, not be guilted into working above and beyond “for the family/business”. You might have meant well but it sounds like she’s been burned before.
