That standard itself is a complicated matter that I could probably write a page-long comment about. Reasonable in some contexts, not so much in others. But I've seen plenty of criteria, from both men and women, that I don't agree with, and I do think women are given more leniency for it. That is, it's generally more acceptable for them to be...pickier...about who they date. He has his criteria, and he told you what it was upfront. However, if it's that important to him, he should have asked before agreeing to a date in the first place. It was rude of him to do so at the beginning of it.
Well, that was nice of him, telling you what kind of person he was and you wouldn't have to waste any time figuring out what kind of man he was.
