By jaybob18 - this FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I finally used the statistics book that I forked out $120 to buy. To kill an ant. FML

stuff like that grinds my gear, teachers that don't use the god damn text book Fyl

Or that the ant is a statistic. 34% of ants die each year in unused text book accidents.

I know of some students who can sit through a whole class and use only lecture notes to study. To me, it's quite impossible. I have to read the book. Anyways Statistics suck. :/

I'm done with math too, finally. I took AP Stat my senior year in H.S but the Biology major requirements for Stat is a bit different than normal Statistics. It's more Biology based. I hated Calculus. Stat isn't difficult but it's way too boring for me. I'm just not a math person at all.

Here's some math for you: Calyx + mintcar + bed = hot fun^2.

Hey calyx, you're creepy. Just thought you should know...

Actually not all science majors need a lot of math. I wouldn't think Bio would need too much beyond algebra, logarithms, exponential functions, and stats. I'm an equine science major and that's all I had to take because they're all prereqs for other classes.

Actually math isn't needed too much in being a Biology major. I only had to go up to Calc I and take a Statistics Applied To The Biological Sciences class. For now, I'm done with my math requirements. I'm interested in Microbio and you might need math such as logarithms( logistic equation) , exponential growth, dilution formulas, etc Nothing too too difficult.

I have never studied Right now im pulling a 4.0 GPA

I hate when books cost that much and you don't even use them.

Statistics is an evil class. That was the only class I ever did badly in through high school. If I have to find a 95% confidence interval of something one more time, I swear...

I completely agree! Oh and the stupid Z scores, whether to accept H naught or not, etc.... I took Statistics As Applied to The Biological Sciences last semester and it made me want to commit suicide. The thing about Stat is that I don't think it's too difficult, it's just one of those extremely sucky, sucky courses to sit through.

I thought it was easy until I got to the z-scores and t-scores and matched pairs stuff. Just keeping them all straight, and remembering when to use which and which conditions to check O_o But if I passed my AP Statistics exam that means I'm done with math classes forever!

Hahah yeah! z-critical and t-critical. It's easy though. i got 95% in exam because I used the sigma sign for standard deviation instead of a lower case 's' when we were dealing with a sample size and not the population. I just wrote out the formula and used sigma and not lower case 's' I lost the 5 marks FML

yeah it is kinda evil. I had to suffer with it for a while till my lecturer gave me a one on one tutoring. it's kinda fun when u get the hang of it :))

75% of all statistics are made up on the spot, 90% of the time.

Fire powa! Wait. Book powa! Books are great for killing bugs. I used a World Records book to kill a huge spider in my room...

A spider is a bug, but it is not an insect.

one less ant to scream about later though

statistics show that at least 1 ant is killed everyday?

I never buy the textbooks for math classes.
