Today, I overheard a conversation two of my friends were having about Homer, so I interjected with a quip about a Simpson's episode I had seen before. They were talking about the poet. I'm an AP literature student. FML

Today, at my mum’s birthday dinner, my brother-in-law used a Latin phrase in the wrong way. Since we all have learned Latin, I taught him the correct way until everyone facepalmed in my direction. He made a rather nice wordplay and now I’m known as the educated idiot who is too stupid to understand a simple joke. FML

Eeek, who TALKS about Homer... utterly stylistic and boring, I barely read the Illiad and the Odyssey... who discusses about this pile of boredom??

Simpsons > English language anyway.

Heh, you just gave yourself an F in the "context" course :)

LOL, "I'm an AP literature student." That only works when you're actually accomplished. AP literature in high school is far from you being an expert.

but, but...homer simpson is a poet too! don't feel bad, i do the same thing with South Park...

meh... I took AP lit, no1 in that level of study should actually be debating what they've read.

#12: um, most people take AP Language & Comp. junior year and AP Lit senior year. I don't know why people are being so dick about this...I'm sure the OP wasn't seriously upset, but made themselves look dumb and thought it would be an amusing FML.

A class on apostrophe usage would probably be of more use than Homer tbh.
