Today, I was driving home from school when I saw this girl I like walking home. Trying to be polite, I pulled over and asked if she wanted a ride. My offer was rejected as she said, "No, I'm actually already home," and walked up the nearest driveway. My driveway. FML

Today, the girl I like was panicking because her car broke down, so I offered her a lift to wherever she needed to be. I drove her to her boyfriend's house. She asked me to drive her home in the morning. FML

Today, I was driving back home after hanging out with some friends. I drove pass a woman standing next to a broken down car. I felt bad, so went back and offered her a ride home. Turns out it wasn't her car and she was a hooker. FML

Today, I was cuddling with the girl I've been seeing for the past few months. She was saying how much she liked me and how much I meant to her. Reciprocating those feelings, I asked her to be my girlfriend. It was a HARD no for her. Then she drove me an hour and a half home. FML

Today, I met a girl at a bar. After buying her a few drinks, we decided to head back to her place. Not wanting to leave either of our cars, I followed her home. While driving, she sent me text because she missed her exit. I tried to text her back something witty and instead rear ended her. FML

Today, my car broke down. I had a two mile, up-hill walk ahead of me. About half way up the hill, a car beeped. Thinking they were poking fun at my misfortune, I began to curse and use obscene gestures, only to find out that it was my neighbor asking if I needed a ride. She drove off. FML

The girl isn't a bitch. The girl is smart. Just because a guy "likes her" doesn't mean she KNOWS him. I went to a high school of 2500 people in a suburb. Tons of guys had crushes on popular well-known girls and the girls didn't know them from uncle. And just because he MAY have talked to her once or twice or even hung out doesn't mean she knows him enough to get in a car with him. Hell, most rapes are committed not by some stranger, but by someone the victim is acquainted with. Claiming the nearest house is yours is the safest way to keep someone from following you home, and is even taught in self-defense classes as a method to get away from a situation that may be unsafe in a non-confrontational way.

The girl is NOT a bitch. It sounds like she didn't know the OP very well, and only an idiot would just jump in the car with a near stranger. And have you ever heard of rape? I would've done the same thing, even if I did like the guy offering me a ride. It's just a precaution.
