Today, to avoid walking on a thumbtack that had fallen on the floor, my little sister took a red sharpie to the carpet and drew a circle around it, "so that way, everyone will see it." FML

You'll have to be careful especially if the carpet is a dark color but nail polish remover can help get the Sharpie out.

That would be a good idea... If, A.) it wasn't a Sharpie, and B.) if the thumbtack were stuck to the floor and couldn't be picked up
