Today, thanks to a new form of birth control, I've now been having my period non-stop for six weeks. FML

Tell your doctor, already!! That's ridiculous, and expensive!! I dealt with that before, for 5 months before I just said "**** it" and went to the gyno. Make them put you on Ortho Novum, or something.

There's no law saying that since those drugs were prescribed to you, they are the only ones you can take. Often people cannot tolerate their drugs, and they call the clinic. Ask for "name of doctor's" nurse. Tell him/her what's been going on. She will tell you to stop them and then make an appointment, or have you come in to the walk-in clinic. Then you can get drugs that will work for you. You need to remember that you are the one who takes control of your health. You know your body. You have to communicate to the doctors about what's going on. They are there to help. They are not your parents who you have to obey. Work with them.

I was on depo when that happened to me, but it was for 4months

Only 6 weeks? I took two doses of DeproVera and was on mine for 2 YEARS!!! I took the second because I was promised after the 2nd my period would stop.

If she is on the shot then she can't just stop taking it? It's in your system for 3 months with just having one shot! The doctor can't just magically make your period stop.. It will stop on it's own. I had the shot almost 3 months ago and have been on my period for over a month. You can't die from bleeding that long.. Duh!

I had the depo shot for 6 months and bled non stop for 21 months afterwards! Know your pain

I got Mirena and had my period for almost a month. It was dreadful. What the doctor told me to do was take birth control pills for a week (the first week in the pack, they're strongest) and it worked! My period straightened itself out. I'd obviously recommend a visit to the doctor, but mention this method and see what he/she says. Good luck honey, I wish you all the best!

HAHAHA this happened to me! Mini pill, right? I had my period for about 2/3 months non stop. But I don't get any periods now! :D
