Today my phone rang in class so my teacher spitefully asked me to solve an equation on the board, which I did perfectly thus foiling his attempt to embarrass me in front of the class. He had me suspended for being disrespectful. So now outsmarting a petty teacher is against the rules FML

No, being a smart-ass in front of an authority figure who expects you to pay attention to what he has to say is against the rules. And he wasn't trying to embarrass you in front of the class. He called on you because your attention went elsewhere, and that's it. No pettiness, just a teacher being a teacher. And a disrespectful little shit being a disrespectful little shit. Bragging about knowing the answer to one equation? Seriously? Keep your phone off, unless you're expecting an emergency call, which you should bring up with your teachers before class, so they're aware of the situation. In the immortal words of the great Han Solo "Don't get cocky". Chances are it'll backfire. Oh wait, it already did.

In the lyrics of John Mellencamp, "I fight authority, authority always wins." If you can't get the principal to help you, maybe play dumb next time.

Yeah...not turning off your phone in class? Count your blessings, many schools you'd lose your phone until your parents came to pick it up. Hint, you should also turn it off in movie theaters and on dates....
